Surftown Yoga, Pottery, and Family Life

Just a few months after the pandemic, Smart Parenting came to La Union for a short feature on how the Perfecto family was doing life out of the city. In the web series, “Buhay Probinsiya,” then managing editor Aussy Perfecto introduced her husband, pottery artist Jose Solon Perfecto, daughter Alana, and the community in surftown where she teaches yoga.

The video was shot in their home and Solon Perfecto’s workshop in Urbiztondo, San Juan, La Union. The setting of their house at the foot of the mountain and surrounded by rice fields is often referenced by the artist for its influence on his work. This landscape figures prominently in his signature landscape bowls.
