Early Works (2000)
These early ceramic works of Jose Solon Perfecto were fired in the first anagama kiln in the Philippines.
In the early 2000s, the anagama — an ancient wood-firing kiln which originated in Japan — was built by Jon and Tessy Pettyjohn’s students and apprentices, enabled by the plans provided by ceramic artist Shozo Michikawa.
Jose was among them.
These are his works from the first few years of the anagama.
Some of these works are on display at Aya at the Balmori Suites, Rockwell, Makati City. For pricing and details, send a message to solonperfecto@gmail.com.
